Cindy Hockman – Nurse Practitioner
Cindy graduated from the University of Maryland with a Bachelor’s in nursing. Soon after graduating she moved to Durham, NC, and started working in the Surgical Trauma ICU at Chapel Hill. The majority of her nursing career has been in the Intensive Care and Emergency Department settings. Most recently, Cindy graduated from Spring Arbor University with a Master’s in nursing with a family nurse practitioner degree. Over the years she has witnessed firsthand the disconnect between modern medicine and treating the body as a whole. Because of this disparity, she began searching for ways to provide holistic care that would incorporate addressing each component of the human self as they relate to one another. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, watching a good movie, or spending time outdoors with her family hiking and camping. Cindy also has a transparent heartfelt connection with substance abuse and recovery since it has affected her own family in many ways. She recognizes the need for holistic care as it relates to the mind, body, and spiritual in order for lasting change to occur, and has dedicated herself to the mission of breaking down the stigma of substance abuse as it relates to personal choice. Recognizing the need in the community further solidifies her belief in treatment programs that goes beyond the standard reach of Western medicine. Cindy is passionate about each person she works with and treats them with the same respect and dignity as her personal values and principles demand.
